TriggerMail Series Part 5

The seemingly limitless possibilities of all the new trigger functions have probably made your head spin!  This next one should be easy enough to comprehend, despite your over-excited state.

Email Open triggers

With these triggers the prompt for the automated email, as you’ve probably deduced, is when a subscriber opens an email.  You can set up TriggerMail to set a follow-up email to go out at a specified interval after the subscriber opened your e-newsletter.

It’s ideal for when you’ve sent out an e-newsletter about an upcoming promotion:  Let’s face it, times are tough and sometimes not all your subscribers can hop on the bandwagon when they read your tantalizing subject line shouting out ‘Amazing end-of-season deals!’.  Why not use this trigger function to fire off a follow-up email a few days after the subscriber opened your newsletter?  Something like “thank you for your interest in our promotion” or “remember, this offer ends tomorrow!”.  It’s a great way to cut back on your email marketing costs, because your follow-up emails only target subscribers who’ve already showed an interest, without wasting any send credits on those who didn’t.  After all, our send credits are precious.

Long term, of course, it’s good to keep setting your TriggerMails according to who’s interested, so you can send them further product-related information or details about related services.

TriggerMails are easy to set up, easy to use and the best part is that they do the work for you.  Coffee, anyone?
