Introduction

The Next 48 Hours is a Cape Town-based media company. They publish a weekly leisure and lifestyle newspaper that includes the ultimate weekend guide of what’s hot and happening in the city. A free tabloid, their focus is on entertainment and leisure. The newspaper offers a full planner of events from craft markets, fetes, feasts, the hottest nightclubs, the best art exhibitions, and garden shows. Their regular columnists have their say about fashion, sport, wines, food, motoring and gadgets. Besides the weekly entertainment line-up, there is also a free movie- guide as well as a preview of movies opening for the week.


The Challenge

The Next 48 Hours needed to send out an electronic version of their newspaper as their print run and distribution was limited. Electronic distribution resulted in them reaching more people who really wanted the information that they publish. They found that an email marketing newsletter is a key tool in driving traffic to their website.
